JARTS, TN2MS and more DX...

Working remote. Note the integrated SWR/PWR meter!
Not that much blogging last couple of days. I had to concentrate and be on the radio hunting for TN2MS which I desperately wanted to have a QSO with. I previously worked all the Mercy Ships DXpeditions and didn't want to miss this 4th, besides that it would be a new DXCC all band. Anyway, just like always I'm very limited in my time for the hobby. Through the week on workdays TN2MS was on when I was at the job. When I got home in the evening they were gone. I tried to call them Wednesday at lunchbreak but my QRP mobile signal just didn't came through. Today I had a day off the job as I had to work Saturday so the QSO only could happen at Sunday or Today. Besides that I hoped for some RTTY activity from TN2MS in the JARTS contest. So I took part in the contest and even worked part of the contest remote from the job at lunchbreak. Never saw TN2MS spotted in the JARTS contest, but worked another new one KG4HF from Guantanamo Bay on 10m. The hunt had to be continued. I monitored the DX cluster last week and saw that first transmissions were always made around 6:15 UTC. So I was on the radio very early at Sundaymorning and did some RTTY in the contest. Suddenly I saw TN2MS spotted on 12m, most difficult band for me as the antenna will not always tune there. But luckely this time it did and I made the QSO after a few calls. Today I waited for the confirmation on both logs from TN2MS and KG4HF. And yes, I'm in the logs. Unfortenately I had no time to be much on the radio today, I tried to reach TN2MS for the second time now on 15m RTTY, but the pile up was too big. So, I'm satisfied with the QSO on 12m.

Well, in the J(apan) A(mateur) R(adio) T(eleprinter) S(ociety) contest I worked some nice DX.
Jamaica 6Y3M on 10m and 20m, Guam KH2F on 20m, Alaska (fellow blogger) KL2R on 20m, Guantanamo Bay KG4HF and just when I thought I wouldn't work Japanese stations in this Japanese contest I made QSOs with JR4OZR en JS3CTQ on 40m. Total QSO's 133 and 19992 points.

73, Bas

Good morning Bas, great work on getting two very challenging stations both due to conditions and location. It's great to be in the right spot at the right time and make the contact.

73, Bas
