CQ WW WPX 2009 SSB

JA0JHA (Japan), ZL3A (New Zealand), D4C (Cape Verde Isl., 40/20 en 15m gewerkt), K1LZ (USA), A73A (Quatar), OY9JD (Faroer Isl.)

Op 20m:

A73A (Quatar), VP59V (Turks & Caicos Isl.), ZF1A (Cayman Isl.), P40A (Aruba), PJ2T (Bonaire), 4V4JR (Haïti), YE0X (Indonesia), JA7NVF (Japan), HK3JJH (Colombia), 8P5A (Barbados Isl.), SX5P (Rhodos Isl.) en 2 uit Senegal 6W1RW - 6W1SJ.

Op 15m:

6V7E (Senegal), VP8KF (Falkland Isl.), ET3AA (Ethiopia), ZC4VJ (UK Sov.Mil. Area Cyprus)

Not Bad ! I though after the last QSO in this contest. Actually I'm satisfied with the results. Actually I didn't compete for the score but was looking for some new DXCC. And it did work out, see some of them in the list above.

Do you need an excellent antenna to work DX ? Well I'm not shure of that. As my antenne broke last week, repaired it. But with the strong winds here at the coast it did bend at the top (see photo) and I lost 1 of the 4 radials. But it did still work, better then I thought.

Conclusion: The antenna is not everything, you need good propagation and good ears and of course a lot of patience. Lucky as I am I live at a quiet location with almost no QRM/QRN and I have free sight to the North and the South. Result excellent receive...

Hi Bas,
Yes a very good result you made.
So you see that your antenna isn't bad at all !!!
Ofcourse you need propagation, but to say that the propagation was good enought to work DX on a needle...:)
So just get used to,that you have a good multi band antenna.Maybe you can change some little things to make it even better...but good it is.

Congrads on the new DXCC's.I have made one new one,so also very happy. Also more points then last year,so i am not complaining as well.

Many thanks for the 10M QSO on the contest.Wars difficult, but good enought to get the numbers.
